Complete home renovation in Dublin, Ohio
Originally built in 1955, this home near the Muirfield area in Dublin, Ohio, had been uninhabited and greatly neglected for many years. American Built Construction gutted the entire house and added a room addition, expanding the total square footage from 1360 to 1600 sq. ft. The plumbing and electric systems were replaced throughout the home, including a new breaker box with a switch-over for generator back-up. The kitchen was completely refurbished, including restoration and reconfiguration of the existing oak cabinetry, a new handmade bar top, counter heights customized to fit the owners, and a reverse osmosis water system. The living room was finished with a restored 1950’s wood-burning stove, a new marble hearth and oak mantle, and a four-pane bow window. American Built Construction also restored the propane fireplace in the master bedroom, and repaired structural damage to the roof. Finishes included new ceramic and granite tile, stripping and refinishing the interior doors, new stain on the existing rough-hewn cedar trim, and careful stippling to seamlessly blend the new and existing drywall ceilings.
